Closed End Funds have a fixed number of shares, different from mutual fund, and unlike open ended funds, shares are not redeemable. But like open ended funds, NAVs are calculated and published. Closed End Funds are often traded on major stock exchanges such as London or New York, and are typically covered by specialist stock brokers.
